PLEASE NOTE : Floating Requirements : RNs will float to Med-Surg ~80% of the time to take a full patient assignment if there are no laboring patients in the department. This is CA facility is in a rural area and they don't have many births. Department : Labor & Delivery Beds : Labor & Delivery : 3 | Postpartum : 3 | C-Section OR : Located on the first floor (not in-unit) Birth Stats : Approx. 30 births per year Floating Requirements : RNs will float to Med-Surg ~80% of the time to take a full patient assignment if there are no laboring patients in the department. Clinical Practice Highlights : Couplet Care : RNs manage both mother and baby (labor, delivery, and postpartum in the same room). Common Diagnoses : Active labor, elective inductions, low-risk pregnancies (37 weeks+). Certifications Required : BLS, ACLS, NRP Drips Used : Pitocin, Magnesium (only for send-outs) Titration Protocol : RNs titrate drips according to policy
