BKM Management Company is a growing firm and we are looking for driven, entrepreneurial professionals that want to grow with us and are passionate about their work. Located in our Newport Beach California office, the Manager, Property Accounting will play an integral role in the company. Reporting directly to the Director, Property Accounting, this position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for assigned properties, while also contributing to ad hoc projects that support the team’s long-term strategic objectives.
Essential Functions :
Accounting
- Take full ownership of applicable property general ledgers.
- Ensure appropriate accounting entries are booked timely and accurately in the systems.
- Work closely with various departments such as Asset Management, Property Management, Fund Accounting, Corporate, etc.
- Daily cash management, including accounts payable / receivable functions, vendor payments, expense reimbursements, cash collections, cash deposits, monthly bank reconciliations and bank wire transfers.
- Assist in overseeing acquisition and sales processes for accounting, such as prorations, closing statement entries, initial rent collection reconciliations, close out entries and various other tasks.
Reporting
Track and ensure compliance with deadlines for all relevant duties.Manage and review property reconciliations and related reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual closing packages.Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements are completed accurately and timely.Adhere to all ad-hoc reporting requests and requirements.Assist with quarterly and annual audit process, if applicable.Assist with departmental policies and procedures including annual reviews and periodic updates, as necessary.Assist in the preparation of budgets with the ability to analyze information and provide variance explanations, as needed.Perform ad hoc projects as needed.Coordination & Review

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related degreeMinimum of 5 years of commercial property accounting experienceMinimum 2 years of management experience, preferred.CPA, preferredYardi Voyager and AvidXchange experience a plusAdvanced Excel capabilities (sumifs, xlookups, pivots)Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detailMotivated and results-driven with strong work ethicExercise discretion and independent judgementThe Perks :
