Principal Logistics Lead

The Principal Logistics Lead will support the general management of the Logistics function. This role will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the Oshkosh logistics system. Responsible to ensure optimization of routing and delivering material from origins into manufacturing locations as well as product to customers and deals. The Principal Logistics Lead will develop and manage logistics routings, consolidating freight, network optimization and managing system metrics are main responsibilities of the role to support Oshkosh Corporation's requirements. This role will also be responsible for global transportation market condition data gathering and information dissemination to key internal stakeholders.

Your Impact

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Monitor routes / lanes / shipments for compliance and conformance by service providers.
  • Communicate with carriers on performance and opportunities.
  • Create and maintain strong working relationships for successful Long-Term Agreements with carrier partners.
  • Lead bid team to provide support and feedback in the development of requirements, process improvements, quote packages, data gathering, evaluation and analysis of bid packages.
  • Understand the OSK Logistics freight system and how it works.
  • Mentor Logistics team members on the scheduling, compliance, performance and process improvements.
  • Solve complex problems independently.
  • Deep level understanding of the Logistics strategy and able to facilitate its development with other functional leaders and communicate with executive leadership on transportation-related subjects.
  • Serve as the technical expert in matters of complex logistics and compliance.
  • Lead complex Long-Term Agreements negotiations with carrier partners.
  • Champion continuous improvements events and lead implementation of changes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with eight (8) or more years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a relative area.
  • Standout Qualifications

  • Purchasing experience within the manufacturing industry.
  • Ability to effectively communicate.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional follow through and attention to detail.
  • Strong time-management and prioritization skills, able to multi-task and prioritize competing requirements and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where requirements are constantly changing.
  • Experience with various web-based software applications including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.
  • Occasional travel required; typically less than 25%.
  • Pay Range : $102,800.00 - $176,800.00

    The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
