Ascend Staffing is hiring for a Controls Technician in Terrell, TX!

Controls Tech  Tasks & Duties

• System Maintenance and Troubleshooting : Diagnose and repair issues in control systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), SCADA systems, and other automation equipment.
• Installation and Configuration : Install, configure, and calibrate control systems, sensors, actuators, and related instrumentation to meet operational requirements.
• Programming and Optimization : Program, modify, and optimize PLCs, HMIs, and other control devices to improve system performance and reliability.
• Preventive Maintenance : Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on control systems to ensure consistent operation and compliance with safety standards.
• Collaboration : Work closely with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to support equipment upgrades, process improvements, and system integrations.
• Documentation : Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, system configurations, and programming changes. Update technical documentation, including schematics and manuals.
• Safety and Compliance : Adhere to all safety regulations, industry standards (e.g., OSHA, NEC), and company policies. Ensure control systems meet regulatory and environmental requirements.
• Emergency Response : Provide rapid response to equipment failures or system malfunctions to minimize production downtime.

Controls Tech  Shift Info

Day Shift, 5 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm availability

Monday - Friday and some mandatory Saturdays

Controls Tech  Qualifications (Requirements / Skills)

o Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi).

o Familiarity with HMI

o Knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control circuits.

o Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet / IP, Profibus).

o Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
