Registered Nurse Job Details

Location : McKeesport, PA 15132 (Greater Pittsburgh area)

Healthcare Setting : Medical / Surgical Unit

Employment Type : Travel RN, On-Site

Start Date : November 10, 2025

Assignment Length : 13-week contract

Shift : 12-hour night shifts (3x12 hours / week)

Total Hours : 36 hours per week

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1630 - $1750

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license

BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification – required before first shift

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification – required before first shift

Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience in a med / surg or acute care setting (2 years preferred)

Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for medical / surgical patients

Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process : assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Supervise and mentor Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff

Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to hospital policies and clinical safety protocols

Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record (EHR)

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Initiate discharge planning and provide patient / family education from admission through discharge

Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment and contribute to unit efficiency

Assume charge nurse duties as needed following orientation

Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing nursing education
