Location : Rugby, ND (zip 58368) – North Dakota nursing jobs

Healthcare Setting : Acute Care, Medical-Surgical Unit

End Date : February 1, 2026

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-hour night shifts; includes weekends and holidays

Hours per Week : 36 guaranteed

Unit Size : 10 private-bed unit

Nurse : Patient Ratio : 1 : 6 or less

Charting System : Epic EMR

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1950-$2090

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Dakota or compact state

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience

BLS certification (required)

ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certification (preferred)

IV therapy experience (required)

Ability to interpret cardiac strips (Phillips monitors)

Experience with Epic EMR (preferred)

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with medical and post-surgical needs

Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress in the Med / Surg unit

Administer medications and IV therapies, including titrating drips (e.g., Cardizem)

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including charge nurses and patient care technicians

Assist in the Emergency Room as backup when EMS is unavailable

Deliver patient education and support for respiratory treatments (CPAP, breathing treatments)

Participate in weekend and holiday rotation as scheduled

Complete a comprehensive 12-hour orientation shift with a preceptor
