About The Position

Job Title : Radiologic Technologist

Profession : Rad Tech Weekend

Hours per Shift : 12 Hours

Experience : Minimum years of experience required

License : IEMA Radiography License

Certifications :

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• Radiography (R)(ARRT)

Must-Have :

Description :

Positions patient and adjusts equipment.

Secures and immobilizes support devices as needed to perform procedures.

Determines appropriate radiographic technique based on anatomy and patient's condition to obtain quality films for review.

Secures history from patient regarding reason for prescribed tests and medication reconciliation.

Records information on appropriate forms for review.

Assists with routine fluoroscopic and / or invasive procedures.

Operates portable radiographic equipment and C-arm effectively in patient rooms, intensive care, and surgery.

Initiates requests for emergency medical support as indicated by patient condition.

Documents all allergic reactions according to departmental and hospital policy.

Transports patients into and out of the department as necessary.

Checks film quality to assure optimal quality is attained.

Provides correct film labeling.

Performs quality control activities.

Responds to inquiries and coordinates patient flow.

Communicates with staff and other personnel to ensure exams are completed in a timely fashion.

Prepares radiographic / fluoroscopic rooms for procedures.

Maintains equipment and supplies as required.

Reports deficient inventory of supplies and linen to Lead Technologist.

Provides direction and instruction to students in general procedures.

Maintains positive guest relations and telephone etiquette following prescribed policies and procedures.

Performs all other job duties as assigned.

Takes thorough and accurate patient medical histories.

Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table.

Uses radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and staff.

Positions imaging equipment and adjusts controls to set exposure time and distance according to specifications.
