:JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
TheCommunity Engagement Specialistis a highly visible, people-forward role focused on connecting Jefferson County residentstocivic life through on-the-ground outreach and relationship building.TheSpecialistwillplan, organize, and staff information tables at community events to help Coloradans registerto vote, learn about elections, and get resources related to the Clerk’s office.This role will be crucial to increasing community trust and involving Jeffco residents in defining the county’s futureand requires a self-directed organizer who is comfortable working independently and communicating progress clearly and consistently. The work willincluderepresentingthe Clerk’s office at partnermeetings and coordinating volunteers while activelyidentifyingopportunities to collaborate and promotingequity, diversity, and inclusion.Position must protect privacy and confidentiality.
SCHEDULE:
Positionoperatesboth in office, and on-locationaround Jeffco and surrounding countiesfor events. Must be able to support some weekend or night events. Thispart-time role will work on average 20-25 hours a week. Position isexpected to bea6-9monthemployment, butcould potentially extend longer if the candidate’s availability and the office’s needs support that.
COMPENSATION:
Hiring Range:$29-$30 USD Hourly
Compensation will bedeterminedbased on education,experienceand skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Initiateandmaintainrelationships with community partners,schools,andorganizationstoexpand voter registration andcommunity engagement efforts.
Recruit andcoordinatevolunteersfor community events and activities.
Physically attendand workslocalevents, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Conduct voter registration and provideaccurate, nonpartisan information about Colorado elections at community events and tabling opportunities.
Independently organizeoutreachevents, meetings, and initiatives, includingidentifyingopportunities, arranginglogistics, andmanagingstaffing..
Represent the Clerk’s Office atpartner meetings and community gatherings, sharing resources andidentifyingopportunities for collaboration.
Maintaincontact information and lists,event calendars and schedules, track outcomes, and manage data
Other duties as assigned.

Preferred knowledge,skillsand abilities:
Experiencewithcommunity engagementand/or organizing.
Knowledge of and experience working within Jefferson County’s neighborhoods and community groups.
Experience with volunteer coordination and management.
Bilingual ability in Spanish strongly preferred.
Experience and comfort engaging community members in various formats, including one on one, small groups, and public settings.
Experience with voter registration, elections outreach, or nonpartisan civic engagement.
Ability to work independently, manage several projects at once, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Ability to articulate clearly and effectivelyto peoplewith diverse backgrounds in a variety of professional to informal settings.
Strong organizational and communication skills, includingtimelyandaccurateupdates to supervisors and partners.
Ability to lift 35lbs
