Lunchroom / Kitchen / Recess Assistant

Global Village Academy is an innovative charter school. Students learn core content through language immersion in their choice of French, Spanish, Mandarin, or Russian (depending on the school). GVA is truly a "global village." Our immersion teachers come from all over the world, each bringing their unique culture and language into the classroom. United by a common core, students are challenged to become world class thinkers, capable of engaging ideas using multiple languages and cross-cultural perspectives, through internationally bench-marked curriculum spanning each language village.

Essential Duties :

• Supervises students' arrival at lunch room.
• Supervises student line while students wait to get lunch.
• Supervises students while they eat lunch, helps students when called upon.
• Helps keep students focus on eating and good behavior / manners in a safe environment.
• Washes tables and wipes ups spills.
• Works with other lunch assistants.
• Supervises students' departure from the lunch room.
• Helps with clean up in between each lunch.
• Helps with trash removal.
• Supervises recess to ensure students are behaving in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Helps with safety awareness and injury prevention.
• Aides students in solving conflict on the playground.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
