    How you make a difference

    The Regional Psychiatric Director oversees psychiatry teams across assigned facilities, ensuring compliance with professional and constitutional standards of psychiatric care. They supervise and support team members through case reviews, chart evaluations, and peer reviews while providing onboarding and training. The role includes oversight of psychotropic medication approvals, guideline and policy updates, and facilitation of statewide or regional psychiatry meetings. The director serves as a liaison with internal leadership, external agencies, and client partners while also participating in committees and systemwide initiatives. Travel to sites, direct patient care, and participation in the on-call rotation may also be required.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide supervision, oversight, and peer review for psychiatry team members across assigned facilities.

    Review psychotropic medication exceptions and update clinical guidelines, policies, and procedures.

    Conduct statewide / regional psychiatry meetings and make required site visits per contract obligations.

    Collaborate with leadership, clients, and external partners while serving on internal committees and projects.

    Support onboarding, training, and ongoing development of psychiatry staff while providing direct patient care as needed.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    EDUCATION

    Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited university

    Psychiatry training from an ACMG-accredited residency program

    EXPERIENCE

    At least three years of direct patient care experience, preferably in a correctional institution

    Two or more years of clinical supervisory / leadership experience in corrections preferred

    LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS

    Licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment

    Board-certification in Psychiatry is preferred
