Morristown Hamblen Overview : Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System has 167 licensed beds and 23 emergency suites. The hospital offers outstanding ancillary services including Laboratory, Radiology and Therapy services. At our Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, women can have their annual mammograms, biopsies, and can meet with a nurse navigator if needed. The Women's Center offers six newly remodeled labor and delivery suites and has a secure nursery for the care of our newborns. It serves an eight-county region in the Lakeway Area and is equipped with modern technologies and expert staff to provide the best possible patient care.
Position Summary :
Responsible for daily clinical operations of cardiac and pulmonary procedures to include invasive and non-invasive procedures.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for quality patient care in all clinical cardiology and pulmonary service areas
- Participates in equipment planning, both operational and capital for clinical cardiac and pulmonary services.
- Provides information to the professional staff and public to increase awareness of the prevention and treatment of chronic heart and lung disease.
- Acts as a liaison to physicians to effectively coordinate procedures, scheduling and staffing between all cardiology and pulmonary departments.
- Maintain and enhance expertise in both Cardiology and Pulmonary testing methods. Evaluate and recommend service line changes and enhancements.
- Promote cultural change to develop and support the team approach to deliver patient care within the service line.
- Facilitate development of success measures for service line, to include leadership, development and implementation of education, programmatic goals, and team enhancement.
- Develop, review and update department specific policies and procedures for the service line.
- Monitor and maintain department compliance to meet all regulatory agency requirements.
- Provide personnel management to include staff placement, discipline, interview and orientation in conjunction with the administrative director.
- Reviews program outcome data for effectiveness in all areas of the service line.
- Assure daily operations are performed to include; staffing, interdisciplinary meetings, department statistics, payroll, charges, and inventory management.
- Coordinates the clinical software necessary to perform the duties in all clinical areas. This includes, but is not limited to, MUSE, MAC lab, and Scott Care.
- Act as a liaison to patients and other customers to provide timely and accurate communication and problem resolution.
- Act as a primary contact of vendors for product evaluation and recommendation.
- Oversees the quality assurance program for the service line
- Supports creativity, independent thinking, empowerment, and flexibility among team members.
- Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education : None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and / or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience : Two (2) years managerial experience preferred. Four (4) years Cath Lab experience or equivalent clinical experience required
Licensure Requirement : Must be a registered cardiovascular technologist, RN, registered radiology technologist, or registered respiratory therapist.
