Summary
NO ON-CALL HOURS. All routine travel is within Knox County.
37.5 hour work week
Head Start is a comprehensive preschool program for low income children and their families. Head Start provides children, including those with special needs, with services that actively encourage and promote social, emotional, intellectual (school readiness skills), physical growth and development. Head Start fosters good health through well child checks and dental exams, current immunizations, nutrition and lead risk assessments. Parent involvement is one of the cornerstones of the program and parents have many and varied opportunities to participate in their child's education and development. Support services are available for families including social services, mental health and disability services, and transportation.

Duties
- Conducts planning activities and completes required documentation related to family / health services, center duties, and overall program needs
- Conducts and provides activities and services necessary for effective delivery of family and health services
- Conducts eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance activities in compliance with Head Start regulations and local operational plans and procedures to assist in reaching and maintaining full enrollment
- Communicates, coordinates, and integrates effectively with staff, parents, and community representatives, and fulfills center duties to meet overall program goals for children and family service delivery
Requirements

B.S. in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Child Family Studies, or related fieldCriminal background check (fingerprint, vulnerable person's registry, etc.)Experience working with impoverished children and familiesExperience and comfort with making home visitsStrong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skillsValid Driver's License ability to obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL).Vehicle for work related travelAbility to read, write, and speak EnglishLegally eligible to work in the USNice To Haves
