Overview : Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Patient Safety Coordinator specializing in Performance Improvement and Quality. This role serves as a key resource for implementing and sustaining systemic performance improvement and patient safety programs across a regional healthcare network in the Southeastern United States.
Key Responsibilities : Assist in designing, developing, and monitoring healthcare processes to enhance quality and safety. Support quality management efforts by coordinating data acquisition, aggregation, and analysis to drive improvements in clinical and operational workflows. Act as a resource for regulatory compliance, including Joint Commission and CMS standards, ensuring ongoing preparedness for inspections. Provide support to Infection Prevention and Control initiatives, including stepping in for the Infection Prevention Director as needed.
Education : Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Certification in Infection Control and Healthcare Quality Management is highly desirable. ASQ certification is expected within one year of employment.
Experience : Minimum of three years working with performance improvement, quality processes, or data analysis. Preferred experience includes four to five years in Medical / Surgical, Emergency, or Critical Care Nursing, and two years in Infection Control Nursing. Familiarity with Joint Commission and CMS standards is advantageous.
Skills and Requirements : Strong knowledge of performance improvement methodologies, patient safety issues, and quality planning. Proficiency in basic statistics, audit processes, and team collaboration techniques. Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data, including regression, correlation, hypothesis testing, and design of experiments. Clinical nursing experience with medical record review capabilities is essential. Excellent communication skills for engaging with multidisciplinary teams and public speaking. Self-directed with leadership qualities and the ability to navigate a multi-facility healthcare environment.
