You care.Responsibilities
- Identifies, manages, and treats specific skin disorders and primary and secondary lesions.
- Provides input on assessment and diagnostic services to residents using techniques including observation, inspection and palpation.
- Completes weekly skin assessment of resident and records results with assessment.
- Provides treatment and therapeutic services per physician orders. Ensures that residents with decubitus ulcers receive appropriate prophylaxis and treatment, such as daily inspection, turning and activity, a well-planned diet, and maintenance of clean, dry bed.
- Provides information to resident and family members on prevention techniques and other ways to maintain or improve general health and psychosocial status of resident.
- Provides written and / or oral reports and recommendations to attending physician and completes weekly skin reports for DON.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous nursing or healthcare experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must have an active license in vocational nursing
