Elite Special Operations Training Candidate

To become a Green Beret, one must undergo extensive mental and physical training. The Army will determine the candidate's specialty based on their background, aptitude, and needs.

Requirements : A U.S. citizen

A High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Compliance with tattoo guidelines

No major law violations

No significant medical concerns

At least 18 years old by deployment date and not turning 32 prior to departure

Training and Certification : 22 weeks of Infantry One Station Unit Training

4-week Special Operations Forces Preparation Course and Special Forces Assessment & Selection Course following Airborne School

ASVAB scores : General Technical (GT) 110, Combat (CO) 100

Skills Acquired : Evasion techniques

Mental and physical fortitude

Weapons handling and operation
