Job description

Our client, a well-established company with a strong focus on project-based services, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their close-knit team. This full-time, on-site role offers a unique work environment in a picturesque office setting, providing both tranquility and collaboration.

Salary : $60,000 - $70,000

Accountant Qualifications :

  • Associate degree or higher in Accounting / Finance / Business, or currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience with accounting systems like Spectra (industry-specific) or the ability to quickly learn and adapt to similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with small-company environments and a proactive, adaptable mindset.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Accountant Responsibilities :

  • Perform regular reconciliations of financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage job costing processes for construction projects, specifically tracking time & materials and working with WIP (Work in Progress) schedules. Note : Training is available for WIP but prior experience is a plus.
  • Handle general ledger (GL) accounting tasks, ensuring entries are accurate and timely.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and reports, with a strong focus on ensuring integrity and transparency.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closings, providing detailed financial reports.
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate financial tracking and cost allocations for each project.
  • Participate in ad-hoc financial analysis and provide recommendations to improve financial processes.
