The Maintenance Mechanic role is a diverse role providing support to the organization in mechanical, electro-mechanical machining and serving as a maintainer in a manufacturing facility. When serving in this position, an individual could have diverse tasks and responsibilities based in all these technician roles given the daily operational needs. Individual must have some applicable skills and be willing to learn skills necessary to support all the areas as better explained below. These roles provide support to the engineering teams to check equipment, operating systems by correcting machining issues and applying preventative maintenance requirements to avoid downtime. The role ensures the performance of all Company mechanical products, machinery and equipment performs optimally while additionally assisting engineers with analyzing performance results.
Requirements
Support machine installations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination.
Perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and facility systems.
Build, install, calibrate, and repair machinery, pumps, conveyors, and related equipment.
Program, operate, and maintain CNC, automated, and electromechanical systems.
Fabricate and assemble mechanical components; read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and P&IDs.
Conduct quality checks, record data, and maintain documentation and repair / service records.
Operate and maintain high-pressure systems, pumps, and auxiliary equipment to optimize production reliability.
Identify and correct programming, wiring, or equipment issues to reduce downtime.
Streamline processes by adjusting machinery settings and implementing continuous improvement practices.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, NEC, etc.).
Participate in emergency response activities as needed.
Train and assist co-workers in safe and efficient equipment use.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Education & Experience
Required : High School Diploma / GED and 2+ years equipment maintenance experience (manufacturing preferred).
Preferred : Associate’s in Mechanical / Industrial Maintenance or 4+ years as a technician.
Experience in troubleshooting, electrical systems, motor controls, and preventive maintenance strongly preferred.
Skills
Strong mechanical aptitude; skilled in hand / power tools and precision measuring instruments.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Proficient in reading technical drawings / schematics.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and recordkeeping skills.
Able to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work in diverse team environments.
Computer / Software Skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and diagnostic / design software.
Familiarity with automation, controls, and industrial software systems.
