Job Summary :
Responsible for managing those individuals responsible for scheduling and day-to-day priorities for the production crew in their assigned department. Under the direction of the Producers and Production Manager, he / she oversees all relevant department schedules and maintains crew communication. The APM works closely with the department supervisors to balance production deadlines and goals in order to achieve Director’s vision for the film on time and budget.
Responsibilities :
- Maintain big picture view on all assignments, and requested revisions that come out of assigned department.
- Manage assignments for staff this includes schedule, priorities, deadlines.
- Manage the day-to-day of department by conducting daily check-ins to get updated on progress and needs. Ensure deadlines can be met and troubleshoot issues that may be preventing department from achieving creative goals.
- Ensure artists have the support and resources they need to hit their deadlines (i.e. most current script pages, scratch dialogue, contact sheets, set, prop, and character designs, any reference, and all IT / Tech issues are being addressed)
- Communicate priorities, deadlines and any needed changes effectively and diplomatically on a regular basis.
- Direct production assistants and production coordinators to ensure all shots / elements are tracked, organized and QC’d prior to Director reviews.
- Provide status reports regularly to the PM and Producers that includes the current week’s progress as well as the following week’s goals.
Qualifications :
DEC, Bachelor’s (BA) degree or equivalent experience3 years experience as an accomplished APM and / or Production Coordinator.Proficient in MS office suites including Excel and Word.Knowledge of scheduling software.Experience in traditional 2D and / or 3D animation production.A thorough knowledge of production and animation process.Experience creating, maintaining and editing film / television / animation scheduleThis job description is not meant to be all inclusive.
