Description : Position Summary
The Food and Beverage Manager oversee daily operations of the hotel’s food and beverage outlets, ensuring high standards of service, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction. This role includes supervising hourly staff, coordinating with kitchen and banquet teams, and maintaining compliance with health, safety, and labor regulations. As a non-exempt position, this role is eligible for overtime pay under California wage and hour laws.
Key Responsibilities :
Operational Oversight
- Supervise restaurant, bar, pantry, and banquet service operations
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met in all F&B areas
- Maintain inventory and coordinate ordering of supplies and products
Staff Supervision
Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of F&B team membersSchedule staff in compliance with meal / rest break and overtime rulesMonitor timekeeping accuracy and approve hours workedProvide coaching, feedback, and support to team membersEnsure all employees follow uniform and appearance standardsGuest Service
Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionallyPromote upselling and guest engagement strategiesEnsure consistent service standards across shifts and outletsCompliance & Safety
Enforce food safety protocols and health department standardsEnsure compliance with California wage and hour laws,including :Overtime pay for hours worked over 8 / day or 40 / week
Meal and rest break scheduling and documentationAccurate timekeeping and reportingSupport alcohol service compliance (e.g., RBS certification, ID checks)Maintain documentation for inspections, training, and safety proceduresAdministrative Duties
Assist with payroll corrections and tip reportingTrack training completion and maintain recordsSupport budget goals and cost control measuresParticipate in weekly management meetings and ReportingCompensation & Classification
This is an hourly, non-exempt position. Overtime will be paid in accordance with California Labor Code, including :
Time-and-a-half for hours worked over 8 in a day or 40 in a weekDouble-time for hours worked over 12 in a dayPremiums for missed meal / rest breaks when applicableRequirements : Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of managerial experience in food and beverage or hospitalityServSafe and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification preferredStrong communication and leadership skillsAbility to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidaysProficiency in POS systems and basic inventory toolsPhysical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periodsLift and carry up to 50 lbs regularlyPerform duties in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
