Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Hilo, Hawaii (96720) – Hawaii nursing jobs Assignment Length : 13-week travel contract Start Date : December 8, 2025 End Date : March 9, 2026 Hours per Week : 36 (following orientation week) Shift : 12-hour rotating shifts; flexibility required for days, nights, and varying shift lengths Unit : Transitional Care Unit (32 beds) Nurse to Patient Ratio : 1 : 8 (with 1 : 6 aides during the day, 1 : 8 at night) Dress Code : Professional nursing attire Estimated Weekly Salary : $1680 - $1800 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; must obtain Hawaii RN license prior to start if not already held Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience required (2 years preferred) BLS certification required Proof of flu vaccination or approved exemption prior to contract start Experience with Meditech EMR, pyxis, wound vacs, chest tubes, tube feeding, NG / G-tubes, trach care, and PICC / PORT management preferred Flexibility to work various shifts and float to Med Surg and Surgical Peds units as needed Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult patients in the Transitional Care Unit Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team Utilize and manage specialized clinical equipment including wound vacs, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and trach care Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training as required Float to other units (Med Surg, Surgical Peds) as needed to support patient care Experience the unique charm of Hilo and advance your nursing career with this top travel Med / Surg RN job in Hawaii.
