TK Elevator is seeking an experienced Area Safety Specialist located in Miami, FL.
The Area Safety Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of TK Elevator employees, subcontractors, and customers across job sites in the Miami region. This position is responsible for conducting comprehensive jobsite evaluations, delivering safety training, and leading incident investigations to promote a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
Job Safety Evaluations :
- Conduct regular field inspections and audits of active job sites to assess safety compliance.
- Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with field supervisors and technicians to implement safety improvements.
- FPPE Verification Protocol - Verify that all team members can accurately articulate and demonstrate the steps of the FPPE process during site visits.”
- Behavior-Based Safety Observations - Conduct behavior-based safety observations to assess real-time compliance and engagement with safety protocols.”
- Cross-Team Coordination - Coordinate with other regional safety specialists to share findings, trends, and best practices across branches.”
- Field Coaching & Mentorship - Provide on-the-spot coaching to field personnel during site visits to reinforce safety behaviors and correct deficiencies.”
- FPPE Tracking & Metrics - Track FPPE compliance metrics and report trends to regional leadership for continuous improvement.”
- Technology Use for Field Reporting - Utilize mobile tools or apps to document field observations, FPPE compliance, and corrective actions in real time.”
- Ability to have up-to 60%-over-night travel (mostly driving distance)
Training & Education :
Deliver safety training programs including new hire orientation, toolbox talks, and specialized safety topics.Ensure training records are maintained and up to date.Support the development of safety materials and resources tailored to elevator industry risks.Incident Investigation :
Lead investigations of accidents, near misses, and safety concerns.Document findings, root causes, and corrective actions.Communicate lessons learned and support continuous improvement initiatives.Compliance & Reporting :
Ensure adherence to OSHA, state, and local safety regulations.Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, and incidents.Prepare reports and metrics for regional and corporate HSE leadership.Collaboration & Support :
Serve as a safety resource for field personnel and management.Participate in safety committee meetings and regional safety initiatives.Support emergency response planning and drills.This is a safety sensitive position.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental health, or related field (preferred).Minimum 2 years of experience in construction or industrial safety, preferably in the elevator or vertical transportation industry.OSHA 30 certification required : CSP, CHST, or similar credential a plus.Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and safety best practices.Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.Ability to travel regularly within the greater South Florida area (Tampa to Miami) and occasionally surrounding states (TN / GA / AL / SC)\nWhat we offer\n
