Job Description

As a Security Officer - Entry Control in Greensboro, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Security Officer with Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor and driver check-ins, and support security-related screening and reporting. You will remain visible to help to deter incidents, communicate clearly with site teams, and provide professional customer service while using a computer and/or tablet to document activity and follow site procedures with integrity and teamwork.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and drivers by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Operate the access control post by checking identification, managing visitor and contractor sign-in and/or badges, verifying appointments, and directing foot and vehicle traffic to the correct areas.
• Conduct security-related screening of incoming and outgoing trucks, trailers, and delivery vehicles, including gate checks, seal verification, shipping document review, and yard entry and exit logging per site policy.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications, completing required reports, and assisting with scene control until relieved.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including monitoring doors, docks, yards, and staging areas. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
