Job Description

Job Description
Description:

The Chief of Staff (“COS”) is one of the most critical leadership roles at Dynasty Financial Partners. As an extension of the CEO, the COS is responsible for ensuring the CEO’s office operates with precision and discipline, while helping drive strategic initiatives across the firm. This position requires exceptional judgment, leadership, and organizational skills, and serves as a trusted advisor and proxy for the CEO.

The COS manages the firm’s Executive Committee, serves as the CEO’s primary liaison with both internal leadership and external partners, oversees board governance deliverables, and directly manages the Executive Assistant to the CEO. The COS also leads key talent initiatives such as the Summer Analyst Program, and plays a central role in strategic planning, budgeting, and talent management processes.

This is a senior position with broad scope and visibility, reporting directly to the CEO.

CEO Office Leadership
  • Oversee all operations of the CEO’s office, ensuring priorities are executed with urgency and discipline.
  • Serve as the first review on all documents, presentations, and materials submitted to the CEO, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and professionalism.
  • Represent the CEO in internal and external meetings when the CEO is unavailable, acting with full authority as needed.
  • Strategically manage the CEO’s calendar, travel, and correspondence; serve as first read on all incoming email and draft responses on behalf of the CEO.
  • Directly manage the Executive Assistant to the CEO, ensuring effective support and workload alignment.

Executive Committee Management
  • Own the weekly Executive Committee meeting process: set agendas, collect and distribute materials, run the meetings, and track follow-ups.
  • Lead the production of the Weekly Executive Committee Report: gather submissions, draft the CEO’s section, write the COS section, and ensure timely distribution to the executive team.
  • Act as liaison between the CEO and department heads, ensuring alignment and accountability across the leadership team.

Board of Directors
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Board of Directors.
  • Lead the production of quarterly Board meeting materials: gather inputs, validate accuracy, draft the CEO’s Executive Summary, and ensure the final deck is polished, complete, and distributed in advance.
  • Partner with the CEO and Chair to shape board agendas and ensure meetings are structured for meaningful discussion and decision-making.

Strategic & Firmwide Initiatives
  • Support the CEO in driving execution of strategic priorities across the firm, ensuring initiatives stay on track and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Participate in the firm’s annual budget process and talent management cycle (promotion reviews, bonus/compensation proposals).
  • Provide analysis, insights, and recommendations to support CEO decision-making on key business and client initiatives.

Talent & Program Management
  • Lead the firm’s Summer Analyst Program: oversee recruiting and selection, build program curriculum and events, mentor analysts, and manage the annual program budget.
  • Partner with the HR/Talent team on broader people initiatives and leadership development.

External & Partner Engagement
  • Serve as liaison between the CEO and executive offices at strategic partner organizations (custodians, asset managers, banks, service providers).
  • Coordinate CEO participation in client and prospect meetings, industry events, and speaking engagements.
  • Draft speeches, presentations, and thought leadership content for the CEO.
  • Internal Communications & Organizational Alignment (optional new section to pull in)
  • Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team to ensure clear, consistent communication of the firm’s strategy, goals, and priorities across all levels of the organization.
  • Draft internal messages, updates, and talking points on behalf of the CEO to ensure the broader team understands firm direction and progress.
  • Support firm-wide meetings and offsites by shaping agendas, preparing content, and ensuring alignment with CEO priorities.
  • Act as a cultural ambassador, helping the CEO reinforce Dynasty’s values and operating principles throughout the organization.

Other Duties as Assigned

  • Take on additional responsibilities and projects as business needs evolve or as directed by the CEO.
  • Provide support on new strategic initiatives, special projects, or growth opportunities that fall outside the COS’s core responsibilities.
  • Adapt quickly to shifting priorities, ensuring the CEO’s focus is supported in real time.
  • Step into leadership gaps or areas of need within the firm to ensure continuity and progress.
  • Approach new and unexpected assignments with intellectual curiosity, flexibility, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Recognize that the scope of the COS role will expand and change over time in line with the firm’s growth and the CEO’s priorities.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in financial services, strategy, consulting, or related fields.
  • Prior experience in a Chief of Staff, COO, or senior strategy role strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, drive alignment, and lead across all levels of an organization.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to prepare board-level materials.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen; experience supporting budgeting and compensation processes.
  • Impeccable judgment and discretion in handling confidential information; exceptionally trustworthy.
  • Leadership experience managing direct reports and mentoring junior talent.
