Job descriptionProvide real-time Montenegrin English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings. Interpret accurately, neutrally, and professionally in immigration, legal, and administrative contexts. Adhere to USCIS / DHS confidentiality and interpreter ethics standards. Handle both scheduled and urgent / surge assignments. Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits. Native or near-native fluency in Montenegrin and English. 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, healthcare, community, or government preferred). Knowledge of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity. Strong telephone communication skills and ability to remain accurate under pressure. Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3 / Tier 5 federal clearance. Competitive pay : $2530 / hour. Remote work through secure USCIS-approved systems. Paid training and professional development. Steady workload under a federal contract. Career growth opportunities in quality assurance or project leadership. Resume / CV highlighting Montenegrin interpreting experience. Any certifications (court, ATA, medical, or community interpreting credentials preferred). We are seeking Montenegrin Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Montenegrin, part of the South Slavic language group, is a rare Balkan language needed in immigration and asylum interviews.
