Cardiothoracic Surgery Opportunity in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Join a respected cardiovascular program in Louisiana's capital city, where you'll benefit from high-volume casework, advanced surgical support, and a collaborative, subspecialty-integrated team. This is a key position within a regional referral center that offers access to complex cases, ECMO services, and a modern, dedicated Heart & Vascular Institute.
Practice Overview
- You'll join a team of 5 CT surgeons supported by 7 APPs, 6 perfusionists, and cardiac-trained anesthesiologists
- Full breadth of adult cardiac and thoracic surgery, including TAVR, MitraClip, ECMO, and aortic cases
- Weekly rotation with the Structural Heart team; shared case volume and active thoracic referrals
- Dedicated 24-bed Open Heart Unit co-located with Cardiac ICU for continuity of care
Schedule
Monday-Friday schedule with 4 OR days and 1 clinic day (flexible during ramp-up)Call rotation is 1 : 4; evenly distributed cases among surgeonsWeekly multidisciplinary cath conference for collaborative planningStrong referral base from 3 cardiology teams (2 private, 1 hospital-employed)Compensation & Benefits
