Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Lubbock, Texas 79410 (West Texas healthcare jobs) Assignment Length : 13 weeks (travel nursing contract) Start Date : December 15, 2025 End Date : March 16, 2026 Shift : Night, 3x12-hour shifts (19 : 00 - 07 : 00) Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary : $1690-$1810 Setting : Short Term Acute Care, Med / Surg South Unit Patient Population : Adults & Geriatrics Patient Ratio : 1 : 6 Weekend Requirement : 5-6 shifts per 6-week schedule Floating : May float to MS / Tele, MS Oncology, Palliative Medicine, Ortho units Dress Code : Solid navy blue scrubs for licensed nursing personnel Parking : Free employee / visitor parking available Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact license accepted; must be in hand at submission) Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg RN experience Certifications required : ACLS, BLS Proficiency with Epic charting system Ability to float to similar acute care units as needed Two recent supervisory references (within last 3 years) Willingness to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) Strong clinical skills in Med / Surg nursing : blood product administration, central line management, wound care, post-op care, rapid response / code team participation Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Provide safe, compassionate, and effective nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a high-volume Medical / Surgical unit Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and treatment responses using Epic EHR Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform advanced nursing procedures (wound vac, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, feeding tubes) Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, social services) Support post-operative and trauma patients, including bariatric and colorectal surgery cases Educate patients and families, participate in discharge planning Float to other Med / Surg or acute care units as needed Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and dress code Ready to take the next step in your nursing career?
