Christmas Driver

Provide transportation and coordination for kettle season. This includes, but is not limited to, such actions as : resolution of conflicts in a professional manner; courteous treatment of staff, visitors, and clients; respect of others' property and person; and professional and appropriate communication to and about clients, co-workers, and supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Transport kettles, lock them on the kettle stands at the beginning of the kettle day.
• Pick up kettles at the end of the kettle day.
• Safely return kettles within route time allowed to the Salvation Army in Crystal Lake.
• Drive Salvation Army owned vehicles only.
• Allow bell ringers to finish ringing before removing the kettles.
• Coordinate with Volunteer & Community Relations Manager / Corps Officers on all kettle and equipment problems that need to be addressed.
• Keep monies secure at all times.
• Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with bell ringers and store employees.
• Follow assigned weekly driving schedules. Flexibility in shift hours is required, as schedules may change weekly.
• Other duties as assigned.

Reporting Relationships :

Under general supervision of the Volunteer & Community Relations Manager / Corps Officers with some freedom to plan, schedule and carry out responsibilities within established policies and guidelines.

This individual relates to, and interacts with, a wide range of contacts both within and outside the Salvation Army. In these contacts, they act as a representative of the Army and its mission.

Performance Measurements :

This individual will be evaluated on how effectively the outcomes of this position are achieved, as well as the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of accomplishing assigned goals.
