Part-Time Accounting Assistant

$24.00 / hr - $24.00 / hr

LaSalle is partnering with a non-profit organization based in Chicago who is seeking to bring on a Part-Time Accounting Assistant who can work 20 hours per week. This person will be responsible for reviewing daily deposits, recording transactions, and ensuring accurate financial documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, comfort with working within multiple systems, and an accounting background.

Part-Time Accounting Assistant Responsibilities :

• Review daily deposits and accurately record all transactions into the general ledger system (NetSuite)
• Record payments on pledges, one-time donations, and lockbox donations
• Process donations that are both unrestricted and restricted to programming, ensuring proper categorization and supporting documentation
• Assist in recording deposits for additional earned income streams as the Foundation ramps up operations of the Obama Presidential Center
• Collaborate with the staff accountant and accounting manager to ensure timely entry of cash receipts for line of credit compliance and effective cash management
• Maintain accurate and complete records of financial transactions and associated documentation
• Previous experience in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Prior experience with non-profit organizations, particularly in donation processing and fund management, is a plus
• Familiarity with general ledger systems, NetSuite preferred but not required
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently
• Ability to work well with other team members and contribute to a collaborative work environment
• Able to commit to working 20 hours per week
