JOB SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES

• Performs general accounting and other related duties for the organization.
• Maintains the general ledger.
• Reconciles bank accounts, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
• Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts.
• Verifies and / or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
• Assists accounts payable with vendor reconciliations and other tasks as needed.
• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and / or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
