Food Service Runners (WH)

Pay Rate : $15 per hour

Classification : Temp to Perm

Interviewed by client

Job Summary :

The food Service Representative “Runner" provides food service to patients, guests, or customers. Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe food production area. May prepare food or drink items, assemble patient trays, and perform daily cleaning of dishes or work areas. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education :

  • High School or Equivalent, preferred.

Experienced :

  • 6 months in Food Services, preferred.

    • Skills :

  • Interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, computer skills appropriate to position, work with a team, organizational skills, customer service skills, work independently, work with minimal supervision, utilizes scripting when delivering or picking up trays from patient rooms.

    • Production :

  • Prepares food and drink items according to menus, production sheets, standardized recipes, and tray tickets.
  • Maintains portion control throughout the production process using the correct utensils, following recipes and tray tickets.
  • Plates, food, and trays in an attractive manner according to instructions.
  • Transport patient trays and other supplies to other campuses in a timely manner.
  • Wraps, labels, and dates all prepared food and open stock items following hospital specific guidelines.
  • Monitors food and equipment to maintain proper temperature, takes corrective action if out of range.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, sanitized, and organized food service work and storage environment.
  • Utilizes chemicals and equipment in an appropriate and safe manner.
  • Stocks service areas following FIFO (First in / First out) principles.
  • Monitors food or tray distribution, ensures all meals / trays are delivered to the correct recipients.
  • Verifies accuracy of tray tickets to the assembled tray and to the patient using two patient identifiers, name, and date of birth.
  • Utilizes correct hand hygiene and PPE measures when entering patient rooms to ensure safety to self and patients.
  • Receives and stores food and supply deliveries using FIFO principles.

    • Requirements :

  • Assists with inventory.
  • Completes all assigned job tasks on schedule.
  • Demonstrates job specific knowledge and duties.
  • Works independently to complete tasks.
  • Demonstrates commitment to improving personal and department performance.
  • Assists in the orientation and / or training of new team members to department.
  • Must arrive on time to start shift. Attendance is mandatory.
