Senior Motion Planning Engineer

TEAM

Woven by Toyota's AD / ADAS organization is developing the core algorithms for safe and robust driving of complex and uncertain real-world environments. Our teams are contributing to next-generation autonomy and ADAS active safety systems through core algorithms, data-driven approaches, and efficient architectures.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a systems-minded engineer with experience in AD / ADAS to develop a state-of-the-art motion planner for autonomous driving. You will also contribute to the design and deployment of our hybrid planner by leveraging the strength of data driven and rule-based approaches to improve our next-generation autonomous vehicles. The ideal candidate will have domain expertise in motion planning, be familiar with machine learning solutions, have built and deployed real-world autonomous driving products, and have worked in a fast-paced environment along with other highly talented engineers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, deploy, and evaluate state-of-the-art algorithms and capabilities for vehicle motion planning.
• Integrate the machine learning model in the motion planning stack.
• Use metrics to measure, validate, improve performance through testing in simulation and on roads.
• Design reusable software components as part of an integrated system.
• Understand and fulfill the software practices that produce maintainable code, including simulation, continuous integration, code review, HIL testing, and in-vehicle testing.
• Collaborate closely with teams like Perception, Control, Simulation, Infrastructure, Tooling to drive unified solutions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

NICE TO HAVE

For positions based in Palo Alto, CA, the base pay for this position ranges from $140,000- $230,000 a year.

Your base salary is one part of your total compensation. We offer a base salary, short term and long term incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package. The total compensation offered to an employee will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and level.
