Hourly Rate : $22.00 / hour

Job Summary
The Medical Assistant Level II advances clinic operations through expanded clinical responsibilities, patient education, and workflow coordination. This role performs advanced procedures, supports care coordination, and mentors junior staff to enhance patient outcomes and clinic efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Advanced Clinical Duties :
- Perform venipuncture, EKGs, wound care, and specialty procedures
- Administer vaccinations and medications per provider orders
- Conduct CLIA-waived point-of-care testing and specimen processing
- Complete health screenings (depression, fall risk, social determinants)
- Provide comprehensive patient education on treatment plans and medications
Care Coordination :
Manage patient communications through EHR messaging systemsCoordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up careConduct patient outreach calls and appointment remindersSupport quality improvement and compliance initiativesLeadership & Training :
Mentor and train Level I Medical Assistants and new staffAssist with competency validation and skills developmentSupport workflow optimization and schedule managementAdministrative Excellence :
Maintain all Level I responsibilities with increased autonomyEnsure accurate documentation and coding supportManage inventory, equipment maintenance, and quality logsAnswer phones, schedule appointments, and manage patient flowPerform patient registration, verify insurance, and collect copaymentsMaintain accurate medical records and update EHR systemsHandle correspondence, filing, and general office dutiesRequired Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalentCompletion of accredited Medical Assistant programRMA or CMA (AAMA) certification requiredCurrent BLS / CPR certification2-5+ years of medical assisting experienceAdvanced EHR proficiency and clinical documentation skillsExcellent prioritization and independent workflow managementBilingual (Spanish / English)Preferred Qualifications
Specialty clinic experienceDemonstrated expertise in venipuncture, EKGs, and CLIA-waived testingPatient education and care coordination experienceLeadership or mentoring experiencePhysical Requirements
