- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in Washington State
- Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or equivalent specialty
- Valid DEA registration and NPI number
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience (preferably in correctional, public health, or primary care settings)
- Familiarity with NCCHC standards and relevant Washington State healthcare regulations
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Current CPR / BLS certification (AHA-approved) Responsibilities
- Deliver primary and urgent medical care to individuals in custody.
- Conduct intake physicals, manage chronic illnesses, and perform follow-up assessments.
- Respond to medical emergencies and acute care situations promptly.
- Prescribe medications and oversee medication management protocols.
- Collaborate with nurses, physician assistants, mental health professionals, and custody staff.
- Document all clinical encounters accurately and promptly in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Participate in mortality reviews, quality improvement efforts, and clinical case reviews.
- Ensure compliance with NCCHC standards and all applicable local, state, and federal healthcare regulations.
- Support infection control initiatives, detoxification monitoring, and chronic care coordination.
