Job Summary

Gordon State College is seeking candidates for a lecturer in English for the 2025 / 2026 academic year.

Primary responsibility will be teaching Learning Support English courses in the Department of Arts and Humanities.

Responsibilities

• Teaches undergraduate courses.
• Plans and conducts classes in a manner conducive to creating an effective learning environment, which helps students achieve the educational outcomes set by the college, the standards of the discipline, and external accrediting agencies.
• Compiles, administers and evaluates examinations and assignments appropriate to the educational outcomes of the college.
• Serves as academic advisor to students in the Lecturer's discipline.
• May serve on appropriate faculty committees at the department, college or system level as elected by the faculty or appointed by the administration.
• May serve the college and community by providing expertise in his / her field to colleagues, schools, businesses and other organizations.
• Maintains the required number of office hours each week.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience, at the college level, working in both face to face and online classrooms.

Experience working at an access institution.
