About the Role :

Environmental and Safety Solutions, Inc. (ESS) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to support a federal construction project near San Diego, CA . The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing health and safety practices in accordance with federal regulations and client standards.

We are looking for a self-directed, detail-oriented safety professional with excellent communication and computer skills who thrives in a fast-paced, compliance-driven construction environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Serve as the primary EHS representative for the project, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and contract requirements.
• Support the project management team with on-site safety inspections, reporting, and training coordination.
• Conduct and document daily safety inspections of the job site.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety logs , incident reports, and OSHA recordkeeping (including injury / illness logs).
• Interface with regulatory agencies such as OSHA as needed.
• Provide ongoing safety training and toolbox talks to on-site personnel.
• Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate closely with facility management and subcontractors to ensure alignment with EHS standards.
