Medical Assistant - Orthopedic Clinic - Anaheim, CA

Overview

  • Facility Setting : Outpatient Clinic
  • Unit / Department : Orthopedics
  • Shift : Day 5x8-Hour (07 : 30 - 17 : 30) | Weekends : No | Call : No

Requirements

  • License : Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited program
  • Certs : BLS
  • Experience : 2 years
  • EMR : CS-Link / Epic
  • Compliance : Flu vaccination (no exemptions / no declinations)
  • Locals : Local candidates only (within a 50-minute commute)
  • RTO Policy : RTO must be 7 days or less and not within the first 2 weeks of the assignment

    • Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, take appropriate vital signs, review current medications, and record in medical record.
  • Explain policies, procedures, or services to patients based on scope of practice.
  • Set up exam / procedure rooms appropriate to patient visit needs.
  • Draw and prepare designated lab work or specimens as directed by provider.
  • Administer immunizations, injections, or oral medications as directed by provider.
  • Clean and re-process equipment and supplies following department guidelines.

  • Float to Los Angeles location on occasion to support call-outs or staffing shortages.
  • Position requires proficiency with blood / lab draws and venipuncture.
  • Medical insurance and referral processes experience preferred.
