Heavy Equipment Operator III

Summary :

AgriNorthwest is seeking a hard-working Equipment Operator III to join the Boardman farm team. The ideal candidate takes initiatives to solve and analyze problems, as well as prioritizes safety while operating farm equipment with a high degree of proficiency to accomplish needs of the farm. The Equipment Operator is also expected to complete regular maintenance, repairs, and preparation of equipment for production operations.

Responsibilities :

• Operate farm equipment including but not limited to, potato marker, potato digger, potato side caster, grain / corn harvesters, and / or planters, and cultivators with a high degree of proficiency.
• Operate sophisticated fertilizer, herbicide, fungicide, insecticide application equipment.
• Work various irrigation tasks including operating and checking pivots, cleaning nozzles, etc.
• Perform service, maintenance, repairs, and care of equipment as required.
• Partner with the field mechanic on rebuilding equipment, such as planters and harvesters.
• Support other farm tasks including field scouting and shop work.
• As needed, during planting and harvest, step in as lead which entails organizing other operators, assuring daily goals are met, as well as coordinating with management and mechanics regarding needs and conditions.
• Keep current with all safety devices and emergency shutdown procedures, as well as ensure all devices are functioning at all times including lockout-tagout procedures.
• Become familiar with MSDS sheets, pesticide labels and application notification procedures and champion the use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
