Must-Have :

Must have pediatric experience within a combined Adult / Pediatric Emergency Department or a Pediatric Emergency Department.

Must have ENPC certification prior to signing.

COVID vaccination required - religious and medical exemptions accepted with completion of an exemption form signed by a provider for medical reasons.

Description :

Travelers will be scheduled for weekends as needed.

Weekend days constitute Saturday and Sunday.

Weekend nights are considered Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Ratios are 1 : 4 for days, nights, and weekends, but can increase when the unit is busy.

Travelers may occasionally float to the pediatric admission floors as needed.

Triage, pediatric dosage calculations, phlebotomy, and starting IVs are required skills.

Interpretation of 12 lead EKG and cardiac dysrhythmias is essential.

Trauma and resuscitation experience is preferred.

Admission holds may be boarded in the pediatric emergency department for longer than normal during high census periods.

The daily census is approximately 70 patients with various pediatric age groups treated, including neonates and adolescents.

The unit features interdisciplinary support from respiratory services, radiology, social services, and pharmacy.

This position requires strong emergency room experience for first-time travelers.

Travelers should expect to work two out of three winter holiday bundles and must provide any pre-approved time off requests.

Essential skills required include management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction, pediatric emergency procedures, and general emergency department practices.

Compliance documents must be ready for submission within specified timelines.

Any required training modules must be completed during the first week of orientation.
