About the role
Seeking a Junior Network Technician based in Los Angeles to support a large-scale network hardware upgrade project. This role involves hands-on work with Cisco switches and routers, including rack and stack, basic configuration, and testing. The ideal candidate is local to LA, detail-oriented, and eager to gain experience in network infrastructure over a multi-year project.
Job Responsibilities
- Rack and stack Cisco network hardware, including switches and routers, according to design specifications.
- Perform initial basic configuration on Cisco devices as preconfigured in the Meraki cloud or SDWAN.
- Work with remote engineers to confirm device configurations.
- Inventory, unbox, and prepare hardware for installation.
- Mark and manage existing cabling to ensure 1-for-1 replacement without new mapping.
- Power down legacy hardware and install new devices, ensuring proper grounding and power connections.
- Test network connectivity and functionality post-installation.
- Remove temporary cable tags after successful testing.
- Follow safety and operational protocols during on-site work.
- Complete work primarily onsite in Los Angeles with after-hours cutover activities.

Must reside locally in Los Angeles with no relocation assistance provided.Experience with data networking and basic configuration of Cisco switches and routers.Ability to perform rack and stack operations and hardware installation.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow configuration and testing procedures.Willingness to work part-time initially, transitioning to approximately 35 hours per week for at least 2 years.Ability to work onsite during after-hours for cutovers.Good communication skills to coordinate with remote engineers.Ability to inventory, unbox, and manage hardware and cabling accurately.Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.Comfortable working under supervision and following detailed instructions.
