Responsibilities Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) within a hospital setting Responsible for critical and intermediate pediatric patients with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 1-2 and up to 1 : 3 for intermediate care Float as needed to adolescent, pediatric, PHOC, and NICU units Day shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts from 7 : 00 to 19 : 30 Required to work every other weekend and at least 2 out of 3 holidays Uses EPIC EMR system Responsibilities include comprehensive critical care for pediatric patients utilizing advanced monitoring and life support technology Team may include collaboration with multiple pediatric specialty units First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment Returning staff must have at least a 1-year separation from previous employment to be eligible Local candidates are accepted at the same rate Must be available to work a minimum of two holidays during the contract EPIC EMR experience preferred RTO (Requested Time Off) must be clearly documented and is prioritized during consideration Requirements Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of consideration Minimum 2 years of recent PICU RN experience required Certifications required : Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) NIHSS certification preferred Experience with CVP, CVVH, hemodynamic monitoring, EKG interpretation and management, PEWs, insulin administration and pumps, NG tube placement and management, IVs (ports, a-lines, central lines, PICCs), procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, EVD, VP shunt, ICP monitoring, HFNC, ETT, ventilators, tracheostomies, renal failure care including peritoneal dialysis, wound care, and trauma required ECMO experience preferred No open or active background or license violations accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-626247.
