OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY
Part of the housing program, this position will guide individuals to take successful steps towards a positive experience from initial intake to case resolution. The Intake Specialist administers and facilitates the processing of all applicants for the Housing Counseling Program and assists the housing team with the success efforts for every client. To achieve success in this position, the Intake Specialist communicates effectively with the public and performs tasks timely and accurately.
The Intake Specialist provides admin support to the office front desk when directed by NV housing program leadership.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist in the screening of clients to determine type of services neededRespond to client questions over the phone including initial eligibility requirements to potential clients in English and / or SpanishConduct both in-person and telephone intake interviewsProficiency in explaining all products, services, turnaround times, delivery schedules and assurances to the clientsReview of program applications, documentation, and disclosures for accuracy and that it is filed in a timely mannerEnsure applicant is ready for their applicable counseling sessionPrepare or initiate new client file for Housing CounselorsEnter data or information into CPLC CMS database systems, as requiredProcess and review housing applications for completionVerify required documentation in preparation for the client’s appointment with a housing counselorSet up new tenants in system and ensures files are created at intakeMaintain client recordsMake client follow up calls, as neededMonitor document expiration datesDraft correspondence for review by Housing DirectorCoordinate meetings and prepare meeting materials as neededAssist in calendaring, scheduling and monitoring of housing matters and deadlines which includes new and follow-up appointments on behalf of program staffAssist in preparation of monthly client reports as requestedParticipate in “outreach” activities of the “prospect” listProvide excellent client service to all end-users throughout the organization and its affiliatesWork cooperatively with administrative office, employees and the publicConducts Outreach activities to encourage Workshop enrollment as neededProvide input and assistance with any special projects as assigned by NV program leadershipSupports counseling staff by conducting Pre and Post Workshop set-up and take-down activitiesAssist with program workshopsEnsure Workshops are pre-scheduled within the program CMSOccasional delivery of documents to other office locationsPerform other duties as requiredMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education / Background :
