Pediatrix Medical Group has an exciting opportunity for a Per Diem Certified Fetal Echo Sonographer to join our team at one of our Maternal Fetal Medicine clinics in Laguna Hills, CA. At Pediatrix, we are passionate about giving high‐risk expectant mothers and their babies the care they deserve. \n

Responsibilities

\n

The Sonographer provides diagnostic ultrasound tests for patients in the Maternal Fetal Medicine setting. The Sonographer works independently and with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to pregnant women. \n

\n

• Explains exam to patient and family prior to the commencement of the test to assure cooperation and optimum test results. \n
• Prepares patients for ultrasound examination and performs required Fetal Echo scans. \n
• Acquires anatomical, pathological, and / or physiological data. \n
• Records / processes sonographic data and other pertinent observations made during the procedure. \n
• Creates a preliminary report for physician interpretation and review / signature. \n
• Assists physician during invasive procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling. \n
• Recognizes equipment malfunctions and takes appropriate corrective action. \n
• Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies. \n
• Follows the accredited laboratory protocols for obtaining two‐dimensional images, color flow, Doppler, and m‐mode where applicable. \n
• Rotates as needed to cover Sonographer absences. \n
• Performs related and other assigned duties as directed. \n

The expected pay for the position ranges from $37.50 ‐ $63.22 per hour. The actual pay range will be computed based on years of relevant experience. \n
