Behavior Interventionist

Job Responsibilities

• Behavioral Support : Develop and implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) in collaboration with teachers, counselors, and other school staff to address students' behavioral needs.
• Student Engagement : Work directly with students to promote positive behavior, social skills, and emotional regulation through evidence-based strategies and interventions.
• Data Collection and Analysis : Monitor and document student progress, collecting data on behavioral incidents and intervention outcomes to adjust strategies as needed.
• Collaboration : Partner with teachers, administrators, parents, and external specialists to ensure consistent support for students and alignment with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or 504 Plans.
• Crisis Intervention : Respond to behavioral crises with de-escalation techniques, ensuring student and staff safety while maintaining a calm and supportive environment.
• Training and Support : Provide guidance and training to school staff on behavior management techniques and strategies to support students with diverse needs.
• Program Development : Contribute to the development and refinement of the district’s behavior intervention programs, ensuring alignment with best practices and district goals.
