M.C. Dean's estimation department is seeking a Senior Cost Engineer / Electrical Estimator to join our team at our headquarters in Tysons, VA. The Senior Electrical Estimator role will work on electrical construction projects bid and proposals through construction phase to completion, ensuring the work complies with all standards, specifications and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Develop budgets and cost codes for projects; assist in the preparation of technical proposals, to include assisting in the design and writing the scope of work, management plans, work sequence, safety, quality control and commissioning.
• Gather data and assist in preparing bid proposal estimates and design / build proposals.
• Develop and present clear and detailed project scopes to the customer and meeting with potential customers to present proposals.
• Run day-to-day operations of a project or sub-section of a project.
• Develop project schedules utilizing the Critical Path Method; assign cost and manpower to the schedule to provide cash and manpower forecasting.
• Understand plans and specifications to identify the types and grades of materials and equipment needed and to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Gather data and assist in preparing bid proposal estimates and design / build proposals.
• Perform take-offs from drawings; price change orders.
• Understand and apply cost fundamentals; maintaining current, accurate information on prices from suppliers and contractors.
• Identify value added solutions and cost saving methods.
• Establish labor and productivity rates.
• Identify change orders and ensuring effective resolution.
• Price, track and manage change orders.
• Managing coordination, detailing logs, schedule, design development logs and criteria compliance matrix.
• Assisting in Field Inspections / productivity tracking.
