Job Title : Accounts Receivable Specialist
Type : Contract-to-Hire
Location : Niles, IL (On-site)
Hours : Monday–Friday, 8 : 00am–5 : 00pm
Compensation : $50,000 – $60,000 annually (Exempt)
Reports To : Accounts Receivable Supervisor
Start Date : ASAP (current employee's last day is October 14)
Position Summary
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing the full-cycle AR process, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of customer payments, reconciliation of accounts, and communication with clients to resolve billing issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a customer service mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Process incoming payments in accordance with company policies and procedures
Perform day-to-day financial transactions including posting receivables and reconciling customer accounts
Prepare invoices, billing statements, and bank deposits
Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that payments are properly posted
Investigate and resolve customer billing issues and discrepancies
Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
Send payment reminders and communicate with clients regarding past due accounts
Generate AR reports and summaries for internal use
Assist with monthly and quarterly close processes as needed
Required Experience & Skills
2–3 years of recent experience in Accounts Receivable or similar accounting role
Strong understanding of accounting principles, credit practices, and collection procedures
Proficient in Excel and capable of working across multiple systems (experience with ERPs or custom financial platforms is a plus)
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative accounting team
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred

Structure includes CFO, Staff Accountant, two AP Specialists, AR Supervisor, and AR Specialist
Phone coverage rotates daily

Final on-site interview with CFO and AR Supervisor
Additional Details
Industry experience in rental or hospitality is a plus
On-site location with no travel required
