Pay Information

$18 to $22 per hour

About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our healthcare team in Grand Blanc, MI. The CMA will support physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical office or clinic setting. This role involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care :

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Obtain and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.).
  • Prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures to ensure comfort.
  • Administer medications or injections as directed by a physician.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens (e.g., blood, urine) for testing.
  • Perform basic clinical tasks such as EKGs, wound care, and dressing changes.

Administrative Duties :

  • Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow.
  • Update and maintain accurate patient medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Handle patient inquiries, billing, and insurance verification as needed.
  • Coordinate referrals and follow-up appointments with specialists.
  • Clinical Support :

  • Sterilize medical instruments and maintain examination rooms in a clean, organized condition.
  • Assist with inventory management of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Patient Interaction :

  • Provide clear communication and education to patients regarding treatment plans and follow-up care.
  • Offer empathetic support to patients and address their concerns.

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications

    Education & Certification :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CAAHEP or ABHES accredited).
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) required.
  • Experience :

  • 1 years of experience in a medical office or clinical setting
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
  • Skills & Abilities :

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients and staff.
  • Proficiency in clinical tasks such as taking vitals and performing basic procedures.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and infection control protocols.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Other Requirements :

  • Valid CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Reliable transportation for potential travel between clinic locations
