Night Shift starting at $18.72!

48-Hour Work Week

Monday- Thursday 4 : 30 pm - 4 : 30 am

Double Time After 50 hrs. Worked!

  • Train on 1st Shift (5am-4 : 30pm)

General laborers

employed at

Veritas Steel's Palatka

location

are responsible for grinding, drilling, shop clean-up, and miscellaneous tasks as assigned by Shop Supervisor.

They can meet high production demands promptly and complete high-quality work with expertise.

General laborers

must also adhere to company policies to ensure a safe working environment.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Uses proper safety equipment to ensure surfaces are adequately prepared for all operations
  • Maintain shop, equipment, tools, vehicles, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items and ensuring safety
  • Coordinate with shop supervisor and other personnel for the purpose of completing projects / work orders efficiently, on time, and with no defects
  • Assist others as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
  • Adhere to safety policies to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and surrounding coworkers
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

    • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English
  • Need to be able to read metric tapes
  • Able to adapt to work priorities, communicate well, meet deadlines and schedules, and work as part of a team
  • Commitment to work safety and actively participating in our safety culture
  • Commitment to attendance policy and procedures
  • Quality, accuracy, thoroughness, and reliability of work performed
  • Willingness to learn and contribute to the success of your team
  • Welding experience is preferred

    • Physical Requirements :

    Able to lift 40 pounds and carry 30 pounds

  • Must be able to push / move objects up to 50 lbs. of force
  • Pulling requirements up to 122 lbs. of force
  • Necessary to stand, walk, stoop, and kneel
  • Must have a good range of motion when reaching forward, shoulder to overhead, and bending
  • Agile fingers and thumbs on both hands

    • Working Conditions :

  • Work is performed indoors in a large warehouse or outside in all weather conditions
  • There is regular exposure to dirt, dust, paint fumes, noise, moving equipment, heavy steel & other possible hazardous conditions
  • Safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel-toed boots are required; a respirator is required for specific operations

    • Compensation details : 18-19.7 Hourly Wage
