Career Team is looking to hire a Choices / SNAP Career Advisor who will perform professional work providing career counseling, intensive case management, and follow-up services for eligible participants in the Choices and SNAP programs. Work is performed under the supervision of the Choices / SNAP / NCP Program Manager.
The Ideal Qualifications for this Position Include
- Bachelor\'s degree in a related field and 1-2 years of work experience or a satisfactory equivalent of education and experience
- Strong communication skills and knowledge about community resources
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-thought-out decisions
- Able to work with and relate to participants and be culturally sensitive
- Must be computer literate and have MS Applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills at minimum, and the ability to learn specialized databases and software systems
- Ability to work in a variety of settings with a culturally diverse customer base with the ability to be culturally sensitive
- Ability to serve as a role model to customers and motivate them towards achieving goals
- Ability to meet and / or exceed set goals and objectives
- Excellent interpersonal, time management, customer service, organizational skills, and communication skills, both oral and written, required
- A Valid Driver\'s License
Responsibilities
Provide Choices / SNAP case management services to eligible participantsComplete intake and eligibility determination for the given workforce programAssess jobseekers\' employment and training needs and abilities through interviewing, testing, and other methodsEnter data into Work In Texas and / or TIERS and any participant information system as required, and any other database as required by the One-Stop systemGuide jobseekers through the preparation of individual employment plans (IEP) based on their specific occupational goalsCounsel clients on available job opportunities, training programs, and other servicesRefer individuals to appropriate services, training programs, or job opportunities and follow-up on those activitiesConduct orientation sessions, workshops, job clubs, and other group presentations for clientsFollow all policies, procedures, and regulations related to eligibility documentation; ensure that case files have originals and / or copies of eligibility documentationMaintain accurate individual case files for each registered customer assuring that each file contains all required eligibility documents and meets compliance requirementsProvide referral and tracking of eligible customers into contracted programs provided on-site at the One-Stop centers and / or located in the community in accordance with established contractsMeet and / or exceed program benchmarksParticipate in all staff-related events as required, including but not limited to training, staff meetings, and individual supervisionComplete all required reportsApproach each day and task with a "ZAG" mindsetOther duties and projects as neededEmployment Details
