Multifamily Property Accountant
Minimum 2+ Years Experience in Accounting
Venteon is currently seeking a Multifamily Property Accountant to fill an opening with an Industry Leader and Employer of Choice with headquarters in the Metro Detroit area. This position will support a growing portfolio of multifamily properties and offers an opportunity to own the full set of books while partnering closely with operations, ownership, and senior leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
- Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally within property / real estate accounting or public accounting (audit or tax).
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications; experience with Yardi or comparable real estate accounting software preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-accounting stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities and strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Perform full-cycle accounting for an assigned portfolio of multifamily properties, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.Prepare and reconcile cash, asset, and liability accounts, including regular review of cash balances to ensure timely payment of all obligations.Post and review journal entries to ensure financial statements are properly stated each month.Analyze and review operating results, including expense classification, variance explanations, and adherence to budgets.Provide timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information to internal stakeholders and property ownership.Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and ongoing budget-to-actual reviews.Coordinate and prepare information for external tax and audit providers to support timely filing of returns and completion of audits.Enter and maintain fixed asset records, process replacement reserve draws, and support financing / refinancing and lender reporting as needed.Assist with special projects and process improvements assigned by leadership.If you are a high performer and would like to work for an equally high performing company and you think the above opportunity is appropriate for you, we invite you to apply to this job and email your resume to amatles@venteon.com .
