The Certified Nursing Assistant provides direct and indirect nursing care under the direction of a RN and in accordance with policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following :

• Six months previous CNA experience preferred
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Basic computer skills
• Previous customer service experience preferred
• High School diploma or GED required
• Graduate of a Nursing Assistant Program required
• State registered CNA license required
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training preferred. CPI training required if sitting with M-1

Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and / or up to 20lbs frequently, and / or up to 10lbs constantly)

Penrose Hospital serves as the anchor hospital of Penrose-St. Francis Health Services with 300-licensed beds and the ability to provide tertiary (high tech) medical-surgical services with an emphasis on elective and outpatient care. Established in 1890, Penrose Hospital has grown to become a major health treatment and referral center, specializing in cancer care, cardiac care, emergency trauma care and physical rehabilitation. The 5 South Medical Department at St. Francis Hospital, an achieved Magnet hospital, is a medical, cardiac and stroke unit with 33 beds. We are a medical unit specializing in cardiac and stroke care. This unit has a varied patient population mix, ranging in age and diagnoses to include cardiac and neuro diagnoses. Our team works together very well, we support professional development and have a great opportunity to increase our skills by caring for a mix of patient needs.

Pay Range $18.00 - $25.25 / hour
